Service 1 – Flow cytometry
Qualified flow cytometric analyses are offered on cells supplied by the customer or available at COMT. Antibodies used for the analysis can be either provided by customer or by COMT. Prices listed below do not include the cost of specific antibodies, which are charged separately if provided by COMT.

Service 2 – Cell sorting
Separation and enrichment of desired cell populations/cell phenotypes is offered through the MACS® Technology (magnetic nanoparticles coated with antibodies against a particular surface antigen) using the MACS ProSeparator (Miltenyi). Kits and consumables (AutoMASC columns) can be either provided by the customer or by COMT.

Accurate cell proliferation analyses on primary cell cultures or cell lines provided by the customer or proper of COMT are offered using a variety of technologies applicable to single-cell monitoring or high-throughput qualitative and quantitative screens. Employed methods include phase-contrast and fluorescence microscopy, laser scanning cytometry and impedence measurement-based systems.

Service 4 – Cytotoxicity/apoptosis
Multi-parametric, highly reproducible single-cell, low- and high-throughput assessments of the agent and cell-mediated cytotoxic and pro-apoptotic activity (included autophagy) are offered using methods, cells and agents established within COMT or material provided by the customer. Assays may similarly be carried out on cell lines or primary cell cultures provided by the customer or available within COMT, are based upon the technologies reported for Cell Proliferation Assays and are complemented by Comet assays.

Service 5 – Signal transduction
Single-cell, low- and high-throughput analyses of signal transduction at the whole-cell level and in real-time are offered on cell lines or primary cell cultures provided by the customer or available within COMT using conventional fluorescent kits. Supportive immunochemical verification assays, involving immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry and Western blotting are complementary provided if requested.

Service 6 – Cell adhesion
Highly flexible, informative and versatile cell-substratum or cell-cell adhesion assays using cell lines or primary cells provided by the customer or available within COMT are offered at the single-cell level or in low and high-throughput settings and can be performed as pure descriptive (qualitative) or quantitative analyses under either static or dynamic (flow/shear rate-dependent) assays. Applied methods include optical and fluorescence microscopy including video time-lapse scanning laser cytometry, laser confocal microscopy, impedence based-systems and parallel-flow chamber-based microfluidity assays. Cell lines or primary cell cultures to be tested as “binders”, or substrate cells can be provided by the customer or selected by COMT. Similarly molecular substrates to be tested can be delivered by customers are provided.

Service 7 – Cell migration
End-point and real-time motile and invasive behaviour of cells is analyzed at the single-cell level, cell subsets or whole cell populations in both 2D or 3D settings. Assays are performed on both cell lines and primary cells provided by the customer or available within COMT and may involve simple molecular substrates (single components) or complex substrates (reconstituted 3D matrix, i.e. Matrigel, or assembled in vitro matrix, i.e. collagen or fibrin gel), and any conventional or specifically designed experimental condition. Assay paradigms are haptotaxis, chemotaxis and durataxis and may be combined with evaluation of mechanotransducing phenomena. Technologies involved in the performance of these assays include phase-contrast and fluorescent video time-lapse microscopy anc confocal laser microscopy, migration through porous membranes and impedence measurement-based displacement assays.

Cells from which deriving such matrices can be chosen among the lines available at COMT or may be provided by the customer.
